VACPS State President Gene Lempert explains: “The important thing is to bring our communities together to work on the problems we face.”
The concert will feature diverse performers representing a variety of styles including folk, rap, spoken word, dance, as well as messages from some very special speakers. The line up includes Jim Newsom (of Mountaintide), Ashley McBride, Jim Bulleit, Ashanti Bragg, JLuv, Britton Hawkins, Jay Poole, Jeanette Richardson, Andre Ellick and Dr. Vanessa Caldwell Jenkins, and more.
Brian Hawkins of VACPS, who was born and raised in Norfolk near ODU, will be the Master of Ceremonies. Brian believes “ending gun violence takes everyone and we are stronger together than when we are divided”.
