Peace Week 2026
"Peace is not built in silence. It is built in circles".
The Virginia Center for Public Safety partnered with Portsmouth United, Big Homies, A Purpose Driven, and other community organizations during Portsmouth PEACE Week 2026.
PEACE Week is a collaborative effort to engage Portsmouth’s youth and families during Portsmouth Public Schools’ Spring Break, offering educational, artistic, and recreational opportunities throughout the week.
There was a series of events held throughout the week aimed at uplifting and empowering students with a focus on nonviolence.
Its goal is to create a positive and supportive environment to engage community members and address the root causes of violence through education, recreation, and access to necessary resources. Portsmouth United is spearheading this initiative in collaboration with other community organizations.
